That is all. | | |
| However, I don't think that Fridays have the same meaning for me anymore. Since I have to work on Saturdays, I don't really get a weekend to look forward to. While having Tuesday off was nice, I would trade it in a heartbeat for Saturdays off. It's a job though. I still like it, despite the working on Saturday thing. I do think that one of the old ladies there hates me though. I'm about 99% sure of it though. She yelled at me twice in one minute today. Old women are crazy! The Komets game was fun. We only stayed for two periods, though. Andrea and I are still not feeling 100%, and we both had to be up early tomorrow. Me for work, her for a meeting for a volunteer project she's doing. I really like the Komets games. Even though I don't quite understand the calls, I think it's a blast. The crowd is usually pretty rowdy. Our friends Kevin and Amy have season tickets, and I'm pretty sure they go to every game. He's insane about hockey. I've never met such a big hockey fan in my life. I still wouldn't say hockey is even in my top 3 favorite sports. Much like all sports, though, it's the best when you are there. Well, I need to get to bed. I'm doing my daily update (I said I would) still! I don't know when I'll do it tomorrow though. If I do it before work, I might be angry. If I do it after the Colts game, I might be angry. Who knows! Anyway, I'm out. Have a great night! Jordan | | |
| Working everyday is hard! I still have two full days of work ahead of me! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I work on Saturdays. Oh well. I find that I really like doing what I do, especially working with the people I work with. A lot of the older ladies are a little bit crazy in their own way. This one lady talks to herself quite frequently. Another is like Speedy Gonzales and is always everywhere all over the store. The people my age are also pretty cool. Probably not hang out outside of work cool, but I just don't really see myself doing that in the future with any coworkers anyway. I do like Andrea's coworkers and have hung out with them. I wonder if I would feel the same way if I saw them on a day to day basis. We're going to the Komets game tomorrow with a few of them. The Komets are Fort Wayne's minor league hockey team. They're pretty good, and they are also a ton of fun to watch! Anyway, that's a tangent and doesn't go with this paragraph. Today way a little crazy. This was the first day I had to come in "early." This is merely a relative term, as I had been coming in at 11 and had to be there at 9 (or at least that's what I thought). I tried to go a little early so I could grab some breakfast at McDonald's. Well, I couldn't find one (imagine that, being from Kokomo, I thought they'd be fairly easy to find!). So, I just went to work. I was ten minutes early, or so I thought (once again). I go up front, and my boss and his assistant give me a weird look. Needless to say, I worked at 9:30. So, I got an hour lunch. I'll get the hang of this working stuff eventually! So, I've been watching Beauty and the Geek 3. I love that show. It's just so funny. I think most guys can identify with the guys on the show, but the women are so crazy and petty. I feel really bad when some guys leave, but not when some girls leave. I don't think I'm being sexest, but I really think the girls need to learn from the guys, too. They just relate to one another better. Oh, well. This is about the only reality TV I like. I thought I would want to watch Armed and Famous because it was in Muncie, but I just didn't care. I like Muncie way too much to think of it like they portray it. And yes, Andrea and I are still battling sickness. We're pretty sure that it is just a serious case of the cold. So, I'm trying my hardest to nurse her back to health! Well, I need to get some sleep before I have to go back to work! Jordan | | |
| Well, maybe real adult is a better term. I'm working at Cunningham Optical One in Fort Wayne now. Today is only my second day, so I'm still in the process of observing and figuring out what I'm supposed to be doing there. Toward the end of my first day, I was able to field questions by patients, pull files, and even diagnose a few problems with new glasses wearers. I think I'll be fine working there. I like the fact that I get to be face to face with people, and my coworkers seem to be nice people. My weekends are really weird, though. I get Tuesdays and Sundays off. It was fun having a day in the middle of the week off, but it also sucks that I don't get to spend all of Saturday with Andrea. I don't have to come in until 11 on Mondays, which is great, and maybe Wednesdays. I work a full 40 hour week, and I will get some pretty nice benefits after I've been working their a few months. As of right now, the only benefits I'm getting is a free pair of Prada glasses to wear to work. That's funny for two reasons. One is that I'm wearing a name brand like Prada. That's hilarious to me. Two, employees in glasses stores are supposed to wear glasses. I thought it was funny that they always seemed to, but it turns out that they do that so others can see what styles might look good actually on a person versus on a rack. Enough about that. Andrea and I went to a bridal show this past weekend in Indy. It was fun to see Katy and Davon in the meantime and try to sneak a peak at the Colts domination of Kansas City while in the mall. At the actual bridal show, we got some great ideas for the honeymoon and I got a great deal on my tuxes for the wedding. We also saw this neat machine that engraved champagne bottles, flutes, and other stuff. It was fun to watch it in action! We're definitely really pumped about the wedding. We have all of the big stuff out of the way it seems, so we can really focus on our honeymoon and saving money for that. The show was in the Scottish Right Cathedral on Meridian. I always wanted to go in there. It was unreal. It almost seemed like a castle instead of a church. There were elevators, big lobbies, ball rooms, chandeliers, and the whole works. We saw a small sanctuary, but I'm pretty sure that we didn't get to see the main one. Pretty intense. I'm currently living with one of Andrea's former coworkers from the Fort Wayne Center for Learning. He's a pretty cool guy. He is actually trying to start a wedding videography business. We saw him at the bridal show. He probably gets a kick out of the fact that I'm renting a room from him, because I spend a lot of my time with Andrea. Oh well. Anyway, I need to get ready for work! I will write more later (I promise)! Jordan | | |
| So, in sports news, the Colts won their first week. In baseball news, the Cubs still suck and are considering a plan to hide steroid use so they can get better for next year. Fantasy football? Yeah, back at it, but I stunk it up this week with stupid idiot players who don't know how to play football. Both of my teams lost. Here's the thing, I got in a league with my dad. This league is insane. Their are lots of people in it that I don't know, and it's really busy. Like, we have to pick defensive players every week instead of an entire team. That right their blows my mind. Their is maybe 10 really good defensive players in the league that are big play makers. The rest are just nobodies. No offense to defensive players, but they just don't really deserve a spot in fantasy football. Genug gesagt. So, you may or may not know, but I'm working three jobs currently. First, I'm a production (dish washer) person at Skyline Chili in Muncie. Come and visit me, but not after 8:30 PM on days that I close. I don't want to have to do your dishes! Second, I'm the administrative assistant for my hall. Lots of...um...administrative stuff goes on their. Third, I sell my plasma. Yeah, you may scoff at the last one, but if one were to break it down, I actually get paid more an hour doing that than I do anything else. Speaking of which, the government, in all its wiseness, has decided to raise minimum wage. This really concerns me. While this may affect me by helping my salary considerably, I don't like it. Period. This makes unskilled labor WAY to expensive for many businesses in our service-based economy. If you think that their is a lack of jobs now, just wait until after minimum wage goes up. This is not going to help the poor. It's going to hurt everyone except the union fat-cats that are grinning at the fact that their unskilled competition is being shut out of the market. I'm sure the Dems are really happy about this one... Knowing the republican party, they probably had a hand in this, too. We need a return to Reagan-style Republicanism. That's what makes me feel warm inside. Kicking the butts of the bad guys, knowing who the bad guys were, and not putting up with nonsense from the far left. Ah, I missed being a conservative jerk! I'm back! Finally, I am once again declaring my love for Andrea Wagner. She is easily the most beautiful girl in the world, the wittiest girl in the world, and she makes me fall in love with her just about every day. I want to marry her and put her on a pedestal! More later... You stay classy, San Diego! | | |
